Start Yachting This introduction to sailing is ideal for someone with no sailing experience to date. No previous experience required 2 or 3 day weekend
Competent Crew This course is intended for people with little or no experience. It teaches basic seamanship skills, enabling the student to become a useful member of any crew. No previous experience required 5 days,

Day Skipper This course is for people with some basic practical sailing and navigational experience. At the end of the course, the student should be able to skipper small yachts, in familiar waters, by day. Basic sailing ability - 5 days sea time, 100 miles logged, 4 night hours. Navigation to RYA DS Shorebased certificate level 5 days,

2d+3d w/e
Coastal Skipper practical This course assumes some prior sailing experience. By the end of the course the students should be ready to start skippering yachts, on coastal passages, by day and night. Sailing to DS standard - 15 days sea time (2 as skipper), 300 miles logged, 8 night hours. Navigation to RYA CS Shorebased certificate level 5 days

The Start Yachting course can be upgraded to a Competent Crew qualification by completing an additional 3-day weekend or two x 2-day weekends. Weekends can be booked individually if required.

RYA Sail Training practical courses are a great way to learn to sail and gain a recognised qualification.
