Typical Adventure Sailing Weekend - Solent

The Solent, with its extensive yet sheltered waters, offers some of the best sailing around. With easy access from London and much of the South of England and the excellent variety of destinations offered, it's a great location for a sailing experience weekend.

Locations visited will vary, depending upon weather, tide and crew preferences, but could include Chichester, Cowes, Yarmouth, Lymington, Brighton or Poole. Typical programme:

Friday 18:30 Meet your skipper and other crew onboard the yacht moored on the Hamble river. After a safety briefing and introduction to the boat, slip moorings and head out into the Solent for an introductory sail. Anchor at the bottom of beautiful Beaulieu river and share a late evening meal together.
Saturday Up for breakfast at 7:30 and then out to spend the morning sailing around the Eastern Solent, anchoring for lunch at Chichester or maybe off Bembridge. In the afternoon explore more of the Solent, arriving at Lymington or Yarmouth early evening. Share a relaxing meal together onboard and possibly explore the town a little.
Sunday After another hearty breakfast, sail down the Needles Channel, getting a close up view of the famous rocks. Sail back up the Solent, stopping at Cowes for lunch or maybe anchor in Osborne bay. After lunch, sail the yacht back to her berth, departing for home around 16:00.
Passing the Solent forts

A Solent weekend would be suitable whether you are ‘learning the ropes’ or looking to build on existing sailing experience. Over a weekend everyone will have the opportunity to develop their skills and to participate in the running of the yacht. We are sure that it will give you a real taste for sailing.

This itinerary is just an example of what your sailing experience could include and each will have its own bespoke programme, taking into account tide, weather and crew preferences. See also sample long weekend and week itineraries.
